Workshop FAQs

What kind of yarn is used in the Workshops?

The giant yarn used in workshops is a giant unspun vegan acrylic yarn called "Mammoth" by Woolly Mahoosive.

Will I leave the workshop with a finished item? Will I need to go home and finish it?

You will complete your project during the workshop, which is usually in 2 hours or less.

I've never done any knitting or crochet before, will I still be able to have a go?

All Cloud Nine Knits workshops are aimed at and suitable for total knitting and crochet novices. Just come with an open mind and willingness to try!

What do I need to wear for arm knitting?

Close fitting thin layers or a short sleeved top. You will get quite warm, not least because you will be growing a blanket over your body. We will be putting stitches on our arms up to our elbows. It is advisable to remove any wrist jewellery or watches and any oversized rings or rings with large stones that could catch on the yarn.

What age do you have to be to attend these workshops?

We recommend age 12+ for most of our workshops unless otherwise specified.

Can I choose the yarn colour in advance?

Absolutely, as long as you book at least 5 days before the workshop date! There are 18 amazing colours to choose from.

Where can I see the colours?

You can see the colours here.  When you book, you will receive a confirmation email requesting your colour choice.

What if I need to go to the toilet/leave the room while doing the arm knitting?

Panic not! You will be given assistance to carefully remove the stitches from your arms and your knitting will be held safely until your return!

What's included in the price?

All yarn, materials and teaching, and a bag to take your project home in.

These are the most common questions we get asked, but if we haven't answered yours, please do get in touch here and we'll get you the information you need.
